The Var Provence Cruise Club processes personal data concerning you (hereinafter ‘Personal Data’) in connection with the use of this website (hereinafter ‘Site’).

As the data manager, we respect your private life and we protect the Personal Data of those who use our Site.

This current policy has the aim of informing you how your Personal Data is collected, processed and used and your rights in terms of the protection of Personal Data, with regard to the applicable legal acts, notably Law 78-17 of 6th January 1978 relating to information technology, files and freedoms, called ‘Information technology and freedoms’, in its most recent version, and the RGPD or Règlement Général sur la Protection des Données (General Regulations on the Protection of Data), which has been in force since 25th May 2018.

Scope of the current Privacy Policy for the protection of Personal Data

This Policy sets out the principles and guidelines for the protection of your Personal Data, which includes Personal Data collected on, or via, the Site.

The Var Provence Cruise Club collects Personal Data (for example by the contact form); this policy covers all methods of gathering and processing.

Personal Data means any information relative to an actual person, whether identifiable or not. A person is ‘identifiable’ when they can be identified, directly or indirectly, principally using an identification number or one or more elements that are unique to them.

Non-Personal Data relates to information which does not reveal the identity of a person.

Data management

The data manager of your Personal Data is Var Provence Cruise Club ; certain technical services (for example : hosting and data quality) are carried out by our technical service providers. In accordance with Article 28 of the RGPD, this provider is bound by a strict confidentiality clause which forbids all non-agreed usage of the data they hold and which requires them to carry out technical and organisational measures to satisfy the requirements in the protection of Personal Data.

Security and confidentiality of Personal Data

We consider your Personal Data to be confidential.

We endeavour to take reasonable technical measures to prevent possible loss or misappropriation regarding the collection or storage of the data that you have provided us with, and to prevent any communication to unauthorised third-parties.

However, despite these measures, the internet is an open system and we are unable to guarantee that unauthorised third-parties will not bypass said measures or used your Personal Data for illegitimate purposes. Consequently, the Var Provence Cruise Club will not be held responsible for any fraudulent recovery of your Data, for whatever purpose that may be.

The Site may provide links to third-party websites that may interest you.
The Var Provence Cruise Club does not exercise any control over the content of these third party sites, nor how the third-parties gather Personal Data. Consequently, the Var Provence Cruise Club declines all responsibility concerning third party processing of your Personal Data. It is your responsibility to inform yourself of these third-parties’ Privacy Policies.

Purpose of data collection

We process your data, wholly or partially, in order to:

  • Respond to contact requests
  • allow you to browse our Site and to adapt our content from your access point for a better browsing experience;
  • remember information you have provided through forms (your email via the contact form);
  • allow you an interactive and personalized use of the Site
  • send information and/or external communications (for example : invitation to events organized by the Var Provence Cruise Club);
  • analyse the audience and traffic on the Site;
  • extend and update Var Provence Cruise Club databases

Your Personal Data is used by our own management teams and our technical service providers.

Contact form

Data is transmitted by a Site user, in order to ask a question, make a comment or indicate an issue. The information gathered from this form is transmitted to the service responsible for managing comments on the Site at Var Provence Cruise Club. The maximum time period for the storage of your Personal Data is 3 years.

With regard to the contact form displayed on the Site, the personal data whose communication is compulsory for the consideration of your request are identified by an asterisk “*Mandatory fields”. Failure to communicate personal data identified as mandatory will result in non-validation of the form in question. The Var Provence Cruise Club cannot therefore comply with your request.

The data is transmitted by the user of the Site who wishes to send a remark or a report. The information collected on this form is recorded in a file computerized by the Var Provence Cruise Club for the management of contact requests. They are kept for a maximum of three years and are intended for our own teams or technical service to respond to your requests. The period begins from the sending of the contact form.

Your rights

In accordance with the applicable laws in terms of protection of Personal Data, in particularly, you have the right to access, rectify or remove data concerning you and the right to obtain a copy of the Personal Data which we hold in a structured electronic format (portability).

You also have the right of opposition for legitimate purposes regarding the processing of your Personal Data and the right of opposition to your Data being used mainly for commercial purposes.

A response, or at least an acknowledgment of receipt, will be made within a maximum period of 72 hours from receipt of the request. A final answer must be given within a maximum of one month (article 12.3/ RGPD). This period may be extended by two months depending on the complexity and the number of requests received, provided that the person concerned is informed thereof within one month of receipt of the request (article 12.3 / RGPD).

In case of dispute regarding exercising your rights, you have the option to lodge a complaint with the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés.

Storage of data

We will only keep your Personal Data for a period that is required by and proportionate to its usage. The maximum time period is 3 years from the last exchange you initiated with us.

After the said time periods, your data will be anonymized for statistical purposes or purely deleted.

Updating this Privacy Policy

This privacy policy may be modified or changed at any time.
