The Clément dwelling is characterized by the maintenance of the industrial activity, i.e. the cultivation of sugar cane and the aging and preparation of rum, in the heart of the cultural and heritage site. This double activity, industrial and cultural, makes it a little more than a company or a museum, with a Creole dwelling and a former distillery classified as a historical monument since 1996.
The Habitation Clément is home to the Clément Foundation and its activities. The Clément Foundation carries out patronage actions in favor of the arts and the architectural and cultural heritage in the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean.
