The statue of Marcel Lollia, known as “Vélo”, a renowned Gwo Ka musician, pays tribute to the revival of this traditional drum music during the 1960s and 1970s, as well as to the man who played a key role in its resurgence. Located in the heart of the pedestrian street, it is often brought to life by local drummers, offering visitors a taste of the vibrant Guadeloupean atmosphere.
